On a Friday afternoon a group of kids, and advisors, from the Catholic Youth Group gathered at HGA with Father Decker on a search for a time capsule that had been buried there decades ago by some former students. Armed with a metal detector, shovels, and enthusiasm, the group searched for quite awhile. Every beep brought hope, more digging, searching, and squeals of excitement. Giant nails, miscellaneous pieces of metal, small and large rocks were all discovered. However, the sought after treasure remained illusive! Two lessons were "unearthed" by these diligent teens.
1: Sometimes the joy is not really found in the goal you were dreaming of, but rather in the journey itself.
2: Friends, hope, faith and a good attitude make everything better, more fun, and truly are the real treasures in life.
